About Me

Hi, I am Justyna Wojtala, and I am a freelancer working as a mobile Makeup Artist.

I live in Edinburgh, but I work all over Scotland. I gained my professional knowledge and experience in Poland as well as in Scotland. I moved to Scotland from Poland in 2015 to seek new opportunities and challenges. I started to work in the Makeup and Beauty industry in 2013 in Poland. I have completed many makeup courses like: Daily & Evening Makeup, Bridal Makeup, Mature Makeup, Special Occasions Makeup, Colour Analysis etc.

I was working as a mobile Makeup Artist for special occasions. However, I wanted more, so when I moved to Scotland and had the opportunity, I started to study at Edinburgh College. I completed “Cosmetic Makeup and Beauty Consultancy” and “Beauty Therapy Makeup” courses.

In 2022 I graduated. I have finished the HND Makeup Artistry course for TV, Film and Theatre at Edinburgh College.

I have been very active during my studies time. I have been a finalist in Edinburgh College Makeup Competition and won second place in the category “authentic 80’s”. My friends from college and I did take a part in a charity event “Medics’ Reveal” and with our work, we helped raise money for cancer research.

I also managed to find a job while studying as a Makeup Artist Assistant. I have been very lucky to meet Caroline Stewart - Caroline Stewart Makeup Artistry (check out her Instagram and Facebook as well) at the beginning of 2022 and I worked with her at big wedding bookings ever since.

For my graduation project, I have chosen to make a TV series character with a bodypainting, silicone prosthetics, makeup, costume and even a headpiece all made by me. Because I love fantasy, painting and I am crafty, so for my End of the Year Show at Edinburgh College I did a full bodypainting with prosthetics and many props.

At this point as I have learnt how to do makeup for TV and Film, special effects and period hair and makeup, I have been asked by Napier University students to work with them on their graduation movies. I was responsible for designing looks for the main characters, delivering makeup to high industry standards; plan, produce, paint, apply and remove silicone prosthetics. I was working on four students’ movies: “Meeting again”, “Kitchen sink fantasy”, “Faster than a bullet train”, and “Sacred skin”.

I also have been asked to go to the Isle of Skye to work with Nexus Digital Media to do TV male makeup and prepare Iain McGilchrist for an interview for Canadian TV. Moreover, I have been hired to do crowd hair and makeup for the BBC production “Mayflies” and the Amazon series “Fifteen love”.

Also, my professional work contains photoshoots. I have been working with my clients and other professionals for business, fashion, and maternity photoshoots. Comic Con? No problem, I have been doing makeups for cosplayers as well. Have you heard about the Ethical Finance Global 22 conference held in Edinburgh, where financial leaders from all over the world were debating about sustainable finance of the World Bank? I had the great pleasure to do makeup and prepare the hostess, Kaisie Rayner, for this conference.

To sum up, I offer mobile hair and makeup services in Edinburgh and all-around Scotland, I work in professional and high standards. The majority of cosmetics I use are vegan and cruelty-free. I work on makeup brands like: Tarte cosmetics, Laura Mercier, Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Inglot, and Garnier. For hair I use: Wella, Schwarzkopf, Redken. For special effects and body painting I use all different sorts of cosmetics, but mostly: Ben Nye, Kryolan, Mouldlife, Skin Illustrator, Chavant, DiamontFX, and Airbase – airbrush paints.

I am open to new projects. Please remember, I am just a message away, can’t wait to meet you.
